Wiping Maps
- Recommended procedure for wiping Main and Guest
- Technique #1 - Fresh Main/Guest!
- Announce at least 15 minutes for you'll wipe that there is a wipe incoming. This will give the players some time to finish their builds and for them to be evaluated. This announcement can best be done using the /say command since this is easily recognizable in the chat.
- Just before the actual wipe happens, you have to save the map to the archive using
- /save archive/<worldname>_YYYY_MM_DD_HHMM
- Here <worldname> will obviously be either Main or Guest. YYYY_MM_DD stands for the current day, month and year and _HHMM stands for the current time in GMT+1. Don't know what that current time is? Well check Here, and add one hour.
- The current main then needs to be copied to a backup-map so we can copy back unfinished builds.
- /wload main old<worldname>
- /wbuild old<worldname> op
- Now that the map is saved and accessible through /goto oldmain, you can press the so called big, shiny, red button by using the following command.
- /wload wipemain <worldname>
- Technique #2 - Workable Old Main!
- If there is a world called main2 already on the world list, then save the world by using /save main2 archive/main_YYYY_MM_DD_HHMM.
- Here, YYYY_MM_DD stands for the current day, month and year and _HHMM stands for the current time in GMT+1. Don't know what that current time is? Well check Here, and add one hour. If main2 isn't on the world list, then it has already been saved. Simply type /wload main2 main2. Now do the following:
- /wload wipemain main2
- /wrename main2 nextmain (nextmain can be any name that isn't already taken)
- /wrename main main2
- /wrename nextmain main
- /wmain
- Now you can announce that there is a fresh main for people to work on by using the /say command. After about 30(?) minutes or when main2 clears out, you can save (using the format above) and /wremove main2.
- The following templates are available for wiping/creating new worlds
- wipemain 512x512x64 - used for wiping main and guest
- advbnew 512x512x128 - template for new veteran worlds - ground at layer 32 with 96 to sky
- membernew 512x512x128 - copy of advbnew (for now!) for new member worlds
- pixelnew 256x256x256 - empty map with white walls (for pixelart worlds)
- To create a new blank world (not map) with any of these maps, type i.e.
- /wload advbnew veteranX
- /wload buildernew memberXX
